Happy February, dolls! I can’t believe we’re already two months into the new year– slow downnnn, time!! Thankfully though we were able to begin the new month with sunshine and palm trees in beautiful LA, escaping the crazy blizzard that hit Chicago. The snow storm was so bad that it actually caused our flights going home to be cancelled TWICE, giving us a whole extra day in California — but definitely no complaints about that from me! I was really looking forward to shooting some new looks for the blog sans boots and a coat but I swear the universe was conspiring against me. Random rainstorm one day and horrendous hair day the next, I looked a mess the entire weekend and it was just NOT working for me. So instead I’m sharing my favorite snaps from our short LA trip. Enjoy and until next time, loves! Xo brunch at Blu Jam Cafe– the crunchy french toast with vanilla bean sauce was SO worth the 1hr wait! My wife, daughter, and I moved into our home nine years ago and we spent a lot of time and energy in the yard to get it looking like it does today. We live on a corner, higher than street level, and the entire side of the yard is encased by a professionally built rock wall. The front of the house though is another story because instead of a wall along the sidewalk the rocks appear to be just thrown up onto the dirt as if someone were in a hurry to finish.
One of my favorite fall items is the classic trench. It’s such a versatile piece. It works well with casual outfits like jeans and flats, and also great with dressy outfits like skirts and tall boots. It surprisingly can extend to winter wear.
